The National Service Scheme (NSS) of the College is headed by Rev. Dr. J. Angelo, SDB, Principal. It is comprised of two Programme Officers, Mr. P. Palanisamy, Assistant Professor of Tamil for Unit I, and Mr. R. Sagayam, Assistant Professor of Computer Science for Unit II, and students as the registered volunteers. The NSS emphasizes that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependant on the welfare of the society as a whole.
Abiding by the motto, “Not me but you,” the NSS volunteers enthusiastically participate in the activities. Youth acquire leadership qualities and experience to work at different community levels.
Since the establishment of the College in 2007, the NSS unit has been functioning with full vigour and enthusiasm. It aims at inculcating amongst the volunteers a spirit of team-work, service to the community they live in, character building which ultimately leads to the development of their personality. This deepens understanding of the social environment and enriches his/her personality through actual participation in day-to-day life of the society. This process of learning is not only a desirable supplement to the classroom education but develops in the student a sense of responsibility, tolerance and cooperation. The NSS plays a vital role in the development of the latent aspects of the student's personality.
